Clear and Transparent Process

Share purchase deals typically take around 8-10 weeks to complete, but I believe in providing complete clarity throughout the process. From the very beginning, I will walk you through every step of the journey in detail, ensuring you know exactly what to expect. There will be no surprises or unexpected procedures—just a clear and smooth path toward a successful deal. My aim is to make the process as straightforward as possible, so you can focus on your goals while I handle the details with efficiency and transparency.

Five steps to a successful deal

Confidential Initial Consultation

Engage in a private, no-obligation meeting to assess the viability of a potential sale. This discussion will focus on understanding your business's history, who will be exiting the business and their roles, current performance, future profitability prospects, market dynamics, competitive landscape, and unique value propositions.

Analysing the business

Following the initial call, I will review the last 3 years full accounts and the latest Management Accounts. This will help me understand the business better and address any issues that could impede the sale process. During this stage, I will also evaluate customer demographics, and growth opportunities. Challenges such as insufficient management succession plans or incomplete financial documentation are common but can be effectively managed with my guidance and support.

Establishing Fair Valuation and Deal Terms

Determine a fair market value for your business by analysing its financial health, current market conditions, asset portfolio, intellectual property, and brand reputation. Once we reach an agreement, we will formalise the terms by signing the Heads of Terms (HoTs). At this point, we will engage our respective deal teams, including solicitors and accountants. It's crucial that your chosen solicitor specialises in business acquisitions; involving a property or divorce lawyer will jeopardise the transaction. Additionally, I will coordinate with your accountant to ensure clarity on our agreement, align all parties, and address any questions they may have. I will provide a detailed explanation of these stages once we agree to move forward.

Strategic Post-Sale Planing

I will be developing a comprehensive plan outlining the future direction of the business post-acquisition. This involves pinpointing areas for enhancement, allocating resources for growth, and implementing new operational strategies, including marketing and sales initiatives. The well-being and integration of existing staff are prioritised during this phase.

Facilitating a Smooth Ownership Transition

A smooth transition is crucial so I always ensures a well-defined plan is in place to transfer ownership, knowledge, and relationships. I always collaborates with the existing owner during the transition period to ensure the business maintains customer loyalty and any disruption is minimised.
